TRACKS 9/10
What a read. Matt Dinniman is a genius. I had some exposure to Dungeons & Dragons before in my life and this book just reads like a D&D campaign that goes as sideways as you'd expect with a good Dungeon Master. Except in this case, it's AI and an alien race controlling things. While there were some predictable moments, this book kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the read. I think I read it in a week which is generally unheard of for me. I have a bad habit of starting a book, getting a few chapters in, then abandoning it and having to start over. Not the case for this. I was finding time in places I didn't know I could, just to read a few pages. Overall, I can't wait to read the rest of the series to see where Carl and Princess Donut wind up.
